Why work with a word press blog

Today I looked back in regard to blogging and wondered why I chose to work with a word press blog. There are many other blogging platforms but honestly I had never used any.

As I researched and wanted to start a blog, the only name I kept on hearing was wordpress blog. The simplicity is amazing.  In a way it has opened doors for people like me who are out right scared of HTML codes.

When I told my husband I wanted to have a website he went, as a good husband and got me a big book explaining how to use dream weaver.  I almost cried. I mean, really in this era, I  was not going to read all that.  Then I met wordpress and I just love the whole concept that people can use this amazing software for free. Anyone can set up a word press blog and when the say five minutes set up they mean it. If you want to have a personal domain to do some business with your blog then it is longer due to hosting.

I got started blogging when I joined an affiliate training program by Jimmy D. brown. The second and third week is all about word press blog installation and customization.

So what do I like about wordpress:

Easy installation. I hosted my domain name with host gator and they have fantastico which makes instant installation of a  wordpress blog. This means I can have as many blogs as I want since I have the multiple domain account service.

Free word press themes. There are many free themes I do not not have to pay to have one for my blog ( I may consider paid options later) . The free themes in wordpress.org are very secure since they are vetted and thus offer no security risk when using them. I have played around with many of the free theme.  I am also learning about widgets and plugins and I have been able to tweak my theme in a small way.

I am able to do this because I borrowed the book wordpress for dummies by Lisa Sabin_wilson from my local library. It makes life much easier when you have one place of reference.

I have a post here that I share how I installed my blog with a personal domain(not the free one from wordpress).  Check it out  easy steps to a word press blog

Here is a video from you  offers a very comprehensive introduction to setting up a  wordpress blog.
