Internet marketing strategy lessons from my children

Starting an internet marketing business, especially a home based internet marketing business calls for learning and taking action on the lessons  almost everyday.

As I start out implementing what I have gained so far on internet marketing from the internet, e-books and my mastermind group. I am also getting lessons from unlikely sources like my children.

I have three girls. The  two older girls have differences like night and day. From their differences in personality, I do garner some lessons for my success in business.

My first and second born have been me teaching some lessons on focus.

My first born has no physical similarity to me at all, you can almost think she is not my daughter, but her behaviors echo mine. lack of focus, Jumping from one activity to another, leaving them incomplete and the place a big mess.

My second born is a focused angel. She sits at the table and quietly eat her food until done without turning the plate and spoons into toys. I am learning from her, the hard way that to get any success in my home based internet marketing business and make money. I must have FOCUS.

I have had so many project and ideas and I have tried my hand in almost all, the problem is that they are incomplete and all need a good streak of organization.

In the world of home based internet marketing, focus is a five letter word that is hard to muster when there is always something flashy that seems promising, in addition to all the other distractions in the house. That is if your house is like mine.

The “how to make money quickly” offers are so attractive that you think it is almost automatic you do not need to work.It has been said work 1-5 hour per week and make tons of money online, well maybe the gurus since they can outsource.

I have been working 8 hours a day. I start working at 9.00pm to midnight and then get up 5.00am and work till seven when the girls get up and then I have to get some two hours when I force them to go and have a quite time in the afternoon.

That sounds impressive that I am working hard, but those hours can fly by so quickly and without me  having done nothing of value to add to my business.

When I come to my computer with the good intention of  working on my blog. I instead decide to look at my emails first and get this promising offer that draws my attention and I lose focus.

My other distraction currently is twitter, trying to get followers.  Instead I end up reading a tweet and clicking into a site and..click click ….I make no followers and not tweeting.

From my research I have come to note that twitter is an effective internet marketing tool for networking and I will be focusing on it positively with a focus to improve my business.

Another focus killer for me is the fear of the failure.I spend valuable working hours  thinking that my ideas  will not work.

I harbor  such negative thoughts like,so many gurus, I am a late comer, what do I have to offer and plainly just feeling so small.

And I know, fear of the unknown,  is the best motivation killer of all time.

I am trying to implement the following to help limit the above distractions and focus.

  • I Check emails when I am too tired to care for another offer however rich they are, I just want to rest and it is free.
  • If there is something I must read in my email then I strictly read, act on it and log off, till later.
  • I am learning to make quick decisions and stick by them to see results . This calls for focus, I have stick to it even if it is frustrating.
  • As for the inferior feeling.  This quote by someone always gets me off my inferiority reverie,  “playing  small and inferior does no one a favor”.
  • To keep me constantly taking action, I right down all my new ideas for later and to build on my current work, I note down specifically what I have to do for the day and try to achieve them.
  • I make a list of  my priorities in terms of my family and my work.  I work when my children have been attended to, mostly when they are sleeping so I make the time be productive since I do not have much time on my plate.

The above tips always helps me to focus, however  I still have to learn how to quickly get out of twitter after getting in. I love reading about people and I think that is the main problem but that is for another time.

Keep the focus.

Grace

Note:  I have found myself taking so much action since I joined LynnTerry Elite Mastermind group. There is so much help from people, it is such a great forum. It offers a quick start to internet marketing success and it is like a group of internet marketing experts gathered together.
