I am on a money making journey, I want to make money online and in my quest for the same I came across Affiliate Marketing. Making money with affiliate marketing may just be my next big thing.
Why did I choose to start with affiliate marketing, I realized anyone can, it is not some rocket science however it requires some training and a good one at that.
I also realized that Affiliate marketing is one of the easy ways to start out making money online, with low start up costs and working just a few hours a week, once you master the basic skills.
I got all these from Jimmy D. Brown. The guy behind affiliatenaire, (hope I spelled it correct). I happen to pay 27USD very month to be in his class every week and I wanted to give my review of this Affiliate Marketing Training to help those who want to make money online with affiliate marketing.
I joined affiliatenaire in June of 2009, this is August 2009 and I will share so far what I have gained and any shortfalls of the training.
Starting out can be challenging especially if you are a total newbie to the whole game of internet marketing. Considering there are sharks out there, gurus, who have mastered the www ocean.
You are like a small fish, not in a bad way, but in the essence that you have to learn to swim with the sharks.
Well I am starting out and I needed a quick start in internet marketing and make some good money online as an affiliate.
Yes, I can read all the free stuff online and start out but it has too time consuming and how do I know what are the best strategies and who is saying the truth.
For the most part the free information works well if you have mastered the basics like how to build a word press blog and if you have some idea on marketing your blog. I was clueless on both. I really needed some hand holding and I know I am not alone.
Affiliatenaire by Jimmy D. Brown offered me the platform to get into an affiliate marketing course. The sales page promised that I will quickly set up blog and start affiliate marketing in a very short time. And I will make money as an affiliate. I was hooked.
Below is an overview of the first four weeks. 
Week one; Introduction to affiliate marketing.
- General introduction of what affiliate marketing is all about and how it is one of the best business models for internet marketing and home based internet marketing business.
- Reasons why having a blog is easier for affiliate marketing, why it is cheap to start and if you have no idea what HTML stands for you are in the right boat.
Week 2; Setting up an affiliate blog.
As you can see week one was light weight, the heavy lifting starts in week two. This is where you get to start setting up a blog.
He offers suggestions and directions on buying a domain name and getting hosting.
If you must know I bought my domain name at godaddy and hosting at hostgator. These were his suggestions.
Now if you are totally clueless like I was let me explain. The domain name is what you see up there like myebizjournal.com and you have to buy it. Caution. Do not use the free ones, I am told they are not good for your business.
Hosting is like the company that enables you to use your phone number, you do not pay them monthly and your phone is dead, same with a website.
I strongly recommend hostgator for like 9.99 USD per month I am able to host multiple domains.
So in summary week two you get a domain, hosting and then set up the blog. I have a simple outline on how I set up my blog and a small little trick I found out that was not in the lesson. Here is how to set up a word press blog.
In customization you will learn: choosing a theme, setting up pages and changing permalinks.
Week Three; Making money with affiliate marketing.
Jimmy believes that as an affiliate it is important that you send customers to the product site but crucial to your success as an affiliate a.k.a making good money you need to set up your own list.
The best way is to have an opt in where visitors to your site can sign in and you will be able to follow up with them. I think it is a great internet marketing strategy.
So in week three you learn how to set up an autoresponder. He strongly recommends aweber and yes, I do have an account with them.
The lessons in week three also teaches what to offer to your list and creating an opt in your blog.
These are really great lessons, so many things I did not know how to do and to be pointed to the right resources is such a bonus.
Week four; Setting up an affiliate blog.
This is where you start blogging. Creating posts in your word press blog. The best part is that he offers suggestions on the different kinds of posts you can have with examples. I will always keep referring to this part always as my blog unfolds.
So there you have it the first four weeks overview, I will detail each week in my upcoming posts.
Let me add one big advantage of this training. The supplement videos. They actually show you all that you have to do. It makes the work so simple and you can refer to them time and time again.
Are there any shortfalls I have encountered with this affiliate training? Yes. Just one.
I did not understand how to create redirects with my affiliate links, even after watching the video ten times. I submitted a ticket for help and they said it was not possible for him to offer a one on one suggestion. However before you take this like a grave concern, he recommends someone who can help inexpensively.
I have not followed up with the person since I got this great elite group that is awesome and I am being helped on that.
The lessons come in weekly as at now I am in week twelve. I am not up to date with the lessons since I had to start a new blog, I had to abandon my first project. I am learning to fail fast, get up and continue.
I print out the lessons and I know week five is where the rubber meets the road, marketing my blog and that is the big deal. I look forward to moving on knowing that Jimmy D. Brown is one of the best internet marketers out there, so even if you have blogs and are experienced but want to make more money, learn new tricks, then the lessons from week five are for you.
